Bosnia and Herzegovina Ambassador to Pakistan Armin Limo has said that there was a bright scope of establishing joint ventures in different trade fields between Bosnia and Pakistani business community. Addressing the members of Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry here he stressed upon the exporters' community of Sialkot that they establish their warehouses in Bosnia because European Union was excellent market for Pakistani products.
He invited business community for trade with Bosnia and suggested to divert their business activities using Bosnia as a gateway for exporting and capturing the European international trade markets. Bosnia and Pakistan need to improve their political and economic relations for promoting bilateral trade and investment opportunities he said. Limo said that many Pakistani products including rice, surgical instruments, sports goods and textile etc have great potential in Bosnia and Pakistani business community should establish direct trade links in Bosnia to grab better market share.
The Bosnian Ambassador said that Pakistani business community was being invited to participate in 2nd International Investment Conference "Sarajevo Business Forum" 2011 to be held in Sarajevo on April 6-8 to explore business opportunities. This year Sarajevo Business Forum will feature projects are energy, infrastructure, tourism, agriculture, wood industry, education, construction and banking he informed the house. He said that organises were looking at attracting even large number of international investors willing to support the projects or entering the joint business ventures. Bosnia and Herzegovina and its neighbouring countries are safe, stable and strategically located representing excellent gateway to European countries he added.
In his address of welcome Vice President SCCI Qaiser Baig said that Pakistani products mostly reach Bosnia indirectly which not only increase the cost but also impede development of direct bilateral trade and stressed the need of direct trade to avoid intermediaries for mutual benefits. Qaiser Baig further stated that solid measures should be taken to enhance the trade volume between the two countries adding that exchange trade delegations and holding joint trade exhibitions would pave the way for enhancing the bilateral trade volume.
