Turkish cabinet did not discuss measures on interest rates, spokesman says

ANKARA: President Tayyip Erdogan and his ministers did not discuss measures to lower interest rates at a cabinet meeting on Monday, government spokesman Bekir Bozdag said.

Bozdag, also said that central bank efforts to bring down rates didn't always bring positive results.

"We did not discuss this at our cabinet meeting today, but the central bank taking steps... does not always yield positive results, and we hope there will be positive developments on this soon," he told a news conference following the cabinet meeting.
