Hafeez leads Pakistan charge with century

CHITTAGONG: Mohammad Hafeez hit an unbeaten century as Pakistan strengthened their grip on the first test against Bangladesh, reaching 212-1 at lunch on the second day in Chittagong on Saturday.

The visitors, resuming on 132-0, had built a lead of 77 runs at the break having bowled out Bangladesh for 135.

Hafeez (113) was batting along with Azhar Ali (24) having completed his fourth test century and second against Bangladesh.

Resumed on 74, Hafeez reached his century with a boundary off Mahmudullah, the only Bangladeshi bowler to have any kind of success in the match.

The off-spinner trapped overnight batsman Taufiq Umar lbw on 61, ending his 164-run opening stand with Hafeez.
