KARACHI: The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh, A.D. Khawaja, has directed that extraordinary security be ensured in the province on the occasion of Eid-i-Milad-un-Nabi.
A police statement here on Sunday said that the IGP Sindh also called for preparing a contingency plan for the 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal.
This, he added, be in coordination with other law enforcement agencies (LEA) at Range, District and Zone levels and in consultation with all the stakeholders at the district level.
The IGP directed the security in the province be further beefed up and steps be taken for fostering interfaith harmony.
He instructed that the implementation of Loud Speaker Act be ensured and steps be taken against hate material as well as wall chalking.
The IGP instructed that special security arrangements be made for the main procession of 12th Rabi ul Awwal besides deployment of policemen as well as patrolling, picketing and random snap checking.
He directed that a special traffic plan should also be chalked out to ensure smooth flow of traffic.
