NA body for early release of honorarium to employees performed budget session duties

ISLAMABAD: A sub-committee of National Assembly Standing Committee on Government Assurance on Friday said that National Assembly had already approved honorarium for the government employees who performed duties during Budget session in Parliament House.

The committee observed that why every ministry was further waiting for approval of Ministry of Finance to grant honorarium.

The committee, met here with Convener of the Committee, Shahzadi Umerzadi Tiwana in chair, was also attended by Member Abdul Majid Khanankhel, Secretary Committee, Chaudhry Mukhtar and senior officials of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Pakistan Television (PTV), Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), Radio Pakistan, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), Pakistan Railways , Capital Development Authority (CDA), Ministry of Interior, Services Branch and others.

Senior officials of PIA and Pakistan Railways informed the Committee that they have already paid the honorarium to their employees. The Committee also directed Allied Bank officials to release honorarium to its employees working in Parliament House Branch of the Bank.

Ministry of Interior informed the committee that a letter to Ministry of Finance has been written for approval of honorarium to its employees. CDA informed that they also released honorarium to its employees who performed duties in budget session.

Press Information Department (PID) informed the committee that one honorarium was released and approval was required from the AGPR to release further.

Ministry of Information and Broadcasting informed that funds were required for paying honorarium to the employees of Radio Pakistan and APP who performed duties during budget session.

The officials said that a letter had been written to Ministry of Finance for required funds in this regard.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad informed that approval of Chief Commissioner Islamabad was required for releasing honorarium to police personnel, adding that a letter had been written in this regard.

The Committee directed that officials of Ministry of Finance should ensure their presence in next meeting of the Committee.
