TOKYO: Tokyo stocks ended down 1.39 percent Tuesday after ratings agency Standard & Poor's warned Germany, France and 13 other eurozone members they faced possible credit downgrades.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange fell 120.82 points to 8,575.16. The Topix index of all first-section issues sank 1.42 percent, or 10.60 points, to 738.01.
