HONG KONG: Hong Kong shares gained 0.39 percent by the break on Monday following strong US jobs data on Friday and the Italian cabinet's approval of an austerity budget at the weekend.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index rose 74.39 points to 19,114.78 on turnover of HK$27.67 billion ($3.56 billion).
