President of Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (HCCI) Azizuddin Arain has said that the first-ever exhibition in the newly constructed Expo Centre in Hyderabad City is being organised by District Government in collaboration with HCCI. This exhibition is being held as "Expo 2010 Hyderabad Sindh" scheduled from 16th to 18th April 2010 and will help boosting exports from the district.
HCCI President informed that 47 stalls would be given free of cost in the expo for which 120 applications have been received. 10 stalls would be set up in the expo centre's lawns especially for the industrial and agricultural items. Arain said the exhibition would be inaugurated by Sindh Industries Minister Rauf Siddiqui. Invitations have been sent to the country's chambers and diplomatic missions, he added. He expected that Expo 2010 would be attended by a large number of all stakeholders and he hoped that the mega event would be a success.
He observed that Hyderabad serves as a nerve centre of industrial and agricultural activities of Sindh and Expo 2010 would boost its image and promote trade activities. He pointed that two expo centres in Lahore and Karachi are working in the county in collaboration with the TDAP whereas in Hyderabad, the expo centre was been built locally by the then district government out of its own budgetary allocations, which is a gift for the people of Hyderabad.
