Nawabzada Ghazanfar Ali Gul, newly appointed advisor to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs, faced stiff criticism by senators in the Upper House for not replying satisfactorily in matters relating to treasury. Gul faced a tough time during the 'question & answer' session of senate.
The treasury senators blamed Gul for not having adequate knowledge required for giving satisfactory answers to the queries, made by them. They (senators), including Chairman Senate Dr Farooq H Naik, behaved rudely with the adviser whereas some others passed sarcastic remarks during the session in front of visitors and media.
Criticising Gul, senators said that the adviser is not well versed with the issues and problems being faced by the particular ministry for giving a required update in relevant matters. Chairman Senate comparing the questions and their replies, pointed out that the advisor had not given relevant answers, but had spent time on non-issues rather than replying to concerned questions. However, Gul replied by saying that in case of his failure in meeting requirement of senators in coming times, he wouldn't mind vacating his position.
