gilani_400_a_copyPESHAWAR: Prime Minister Syed Yusaf Raza Gilani Saturday said the matter of memo will be taken to its logical end, by ensurng the national interest and Pakistan envoy to US Hussain Hqqani has been summoned to explain the whole issue.

Talking to the media at the Walima reception of the son of Governor Khyber Pakhtuknwa Barrister Masood Kausar, he said Husain Haqqani has been summoned to give an explanation to the country's leadership.

It will be unjust and against the norms of justice to jump to the conclusion without listening to the point of view of the Ambassador, he added.

He said there was no problem for the coalition government as it had a working relationship with other national institutions. Any step contrary to the law and the Constitution would not be acceptable he said and added that the Opposition has certain legal options to remove the government.

He said certain people, yearning for change in government through unconstitutional means, would miserably fail, and added the present government was strong and stable enough to counter such moves.

He said there was total understanding and harmony between the state institutions which was not witnessed in the past during any civilian government's tenure.

He said the entire nation was united against anti-state elements and was aware to protect the national interest.

Gilani said, the present government faced lot of difficulties one after another, after coming into power.

The government took up the challenges and faced many problems and baseless allegations with patience and courage, he added.

He said all major issues will be resolved while keeping in view national interest.

On a question, he said it is premature to comment and added that once Imran Khan's PTI formed the government, then it would be adjudged who was supporting whom.

About peace in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Fata, the Prime Minister said it was the main focus of the government as menace of terrorism and extremism needs to be routed out.

The Prime Minister said the government was pursuing policy of 3 Ds - Dialogue, Deterrence and Development - and added now the entire world has realized that dialogue was the best option to resolve the problems. To a question, he said, "We are a responsible government" and rejected the impression that there was any difference between political and military leadership.

The government, he said, addressed many issues and challenges by taking the Parliament and mainstream national leadership into confidence.

He said the government accepted the demands of the Opposition on issues involving national interest and called joint session of the parliament and formed judicial commission on their request.

He said the military leadership explained ceratin defence related issues before the Parliament for the first time and lauded their positive role in the nation building process.
