ISLAMABAD: Inspector General, National Highway & Motorway Police (NH&MP) Wajid Ali Durrani on Saturday said that fool proof security measures are being taken to meet any emergency or any activity of terrorism on Eid.
Chairing the meeting of senior officers for taking special measures,he directed the senior officer to ensure complete liaison with district police in all cases so that any activity of terrorism could be avoided.
Wajid Durrani also directed that extra-patrolling vehicles and mobile workshops should be arranged during Eid holidays.
"Special video films would be made of every passenger in public transports and special vigilance must be ensured of pickpockters" he added.
He directed that any suspicious vehicle must be checked with safety modes so that any activity of terrorism could be avoided.
"Vehicles used for patrolling and extra mobile workshops will be arranged so that maximum number of vehicles could be provided service during any emergency" IG added.
He also advised them that all sector Commanders (SSPs) and have a special supervision should also patrol.
He also advised that a control room has been set up in each DIG office which should have a complete liaison with main control room at Islamabad.
He directed that while getting any complaint through helpline 130, immediate response must be shown.
Durrani also directed that Help centers should actively run round the clock during Eid holidays.
He said that responsibility of safety of every road users lies with motorway police, therefore, their safety must be ensured.
The meeting was attended by DIG Motorways Dr. Shafiq Ahmed, DIG (HQs) Shahid Yar Khan, DIG N-5 (North) Abbas Hussain Malik all AIGs and SSPs.
