Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) have installed mobile cameras in all its vehicles to control speedy and reckless driving in the Federal Capital. In the night, the checking is conducted with help of the night-vision cameras, SSP Traffic, Muhammad Zubair Hashmi said on Sunday.
Speaking at the concluding session of a 6-day workshop in the Custom Intelligence and Investigation Cell organised by the Traffic Police here on Sunday, he said an effective strategy has also been devised to prevent traffic accidents. He said that drivers should drive carefully by acting upon traffic rules aimed at establishing traffic discipline.
There was a significant decrease in traffic accidents owing to measures taken by the Islamabad Traffic Police, he added. He said the steps like road safety will further cut down road accidents.
According to details, the six-day workshop has been organised in the Custom Intelligence and Investigation Cell in connection with road safety education campaign.
During the workshop, the education team of Islamabad Traffic Police delivered lectures about the road safety. Besides, Director Custom Intelligence and Investigation Cell, Muhammad Younas Khan and other senior officials, the workshop was attended by 160 officers and drivers. The SSP Traffic also distributed certificates among the participants of the workshop.
