Karachi is fast recovering from the effects of the storm and torrential rains that had hit the city in end of June and threatened to continue through the first week of July, reports UPP correspondent. One of the most visual signs of the recovery in the city was the huge crowd of women shoppers buying the half-burnt cloth from a footpath sale.
The women shoppers were lapping up as much as possible of cloth offered because it was being sold at very cheap rates. Similarly, the road transport in the city has begun functioning on a normal basis. The work on the improvement of roads has also been taken up in right earnest.
People have appreciated the manner in which City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal and his staff as all the CDGK departments have been working at optimum level to restore normalcy. Meanwhile, various towns administration have also taken up in right earnest various projects for overcoming the damages caused by the storm and rains.
