The NWFP Governor Ali Mohammad Jan Aurakzai has assured that provision of natural gas facility to district Hangu has been principally approved. Talking to a 13-member representative delegation from Kotki Bala area of District Hangu that called on him, the Governor said that Thall area of the district had also been included in the plan and added that survey work in this respect would be taken in hand shortly.
Therefore, he said not only the residents of Kotki Bala but also all the villages falling along the main supply line would be benefited from the facility. Besides, he added, Rs 50 millions had also been earmarked for the up-gradation of local Government High School for Boys and work on that project would be taken up during the current financial year.
As far as the up-gradation of local Girls Middle School was concerned, he said, possibilities were also being explored to fulfil the demand of the respective people and, if proved feasible, necessary steps would be taken in this respect.
He also assured that necessary steps were under way to provide furniture and further improved educational facilities in all the educational institutions and the government had earmarked necessary funds for that purpose. Apart from this, the Governor said, Rs 5.9 million had been approved for the provision of potable water to the residents and work on that project would also be initiated in the near future.
