The Punjab government has formulated a strategy for setting up small industrial estates in six districts for accelerating the pace of trade and commerce activities in the province.
Official sources told Business Recorder here on Tuesday that under the programme small industrial estates would be established at Narowal, Mandi Bahauddin, Toba Take Singh, Hafizabad, Nankana Sahib and Leyyah during current fiscal period.
Basic facilities like electricity, sewerage, water supply and road infrastructure would be ensured in these estates. Apart from this, establishment of a mini-industrial estate in Pasrur tehsil of Sialkot district was also under consideration.
They said that the government would provide developed industrial plots on the basis of easy instalments to the interested persons in these districts. In addition to this, the government would make arrangements for provision of loans for setting up industrial units. Special attention would be given to promotion of local industries of these districts. The aim of this plan is to activate trade and commerce activities in these districts, they said.
