The Rotary Club has handed over 500 bags of food bags, weighing 20 kilograms each and 500 bottles of mineral water to Pakistan Navy for its distribution among the rain affected people in Balochistan. The relief goods were handed over to Commander Fleet, Pakistan Navy, at PNS Haider here on Tuesday.
Rotary Club's District Governor (nominee) Usman Masud said that they have already sent 500 bags of food items and 500 bottles of mineral water to rain affected areas of Sindh and Balochistan a few days back.
He said that the efforts to send more relief goods to rain affected areas would continue, and added 500 bags of food items and 500 bottles of mineral water were also ready to be handed over to Pakistan Navy for distribution in rain affected areas.
Since of June 23 when storm hit the coastal areas, the Rotarians in general and the Rotarians of Rotary Club of Karachi-Bay in particular, have been busy to help the affected people.
The relief items provided so far included 20 "Daigs" of Biryani distributed at Kaka village, Sumar Goth, Abdul Rehman Goth and Mubarak village by RCK-Bay on June 24; 250 bags of food items of 20 kilograms each and 250 bottles of five-liter mineral water distributed in Port Qasim area and adjoining creeks by the RCK-Bay on June 25; 250 bags of food items of 20 kilograms each and 250 bottles of five-liter mineral water distributed in Mubarak village and Kaka village by RCK-Bay on June 26; 500 bags of food items of 20-kilogram each and 500 bottles of five-liter mineral water handed over to Pakistan Navy and items airlifted on June 27 for distribution along the coastal areas of Ormara, Pasni and Gwadar. These items were a donation from the RC-Lahore, RC Lahore Central and RCK-Bay.-PR
