Commenting on Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi's statement that Sharif brothers wanted to leave the country after their government was dismissed in October 1999, is nothing but an instance of "Gujrat group's" moral decay and a bundle of lies.
Rana Mehmood-ul-Hassan, MNA, Nafees Ahmed Ansari, MPA said that since Ejaz Batalvi and Mian Sharif are not in this world now, attributing such baseless things to them is nothing less than mental decadence, the PML leaders said. Rana Mehmood-ul-Hassan said that Supreme Court storming case was twice probed but nothing could be proved against Shahbaz Sharif. "Had Shahbaz been involved in the act, Justice Irshad Hassan Khan would never have spared him," said Rana adding that Gujrat group Mian Muneer, Tariq Aziz and Akhtar Rasool were responsible for the attack and were also punished for it.
He said that PML (N) made alliance with the PPP and other parties only for the restoration of 1973 Constitution whereas PML(Q) govt in the centre and in the provinces owed to PPP turn coats. He said that Pervez Elahi had concealed facts to win their sympathies.
