All the police stations of Gujrat district along with five other districts of the province under the pilot project will be linked with computerised network by September next.
District Police Officer, Mahmood Ul Hassan Qureshi told APP here on Sunday that on the special directive of the Chief Minister Punjab all police stations will be connected with computerised network.
He said that during the first phase, under the pilot project funded by Asian Development Bank and IT Department Punjab, the 27 police stations of Multan, 28 of Faisalabad, 28 of Gujranwala, 26 of Sialkot, 20 of Gujrat and 76 of Lahore district will be linked with central computer network of Central Police Office. DPO said that same network will also be extended to respective District Police Officer and Sub Divisional Police Officers.
He said entire task has been entrusted to Deputy Inspector General of Police (Research and Development) Malik Khuda Buksh Awan for its timely completion by the end of September.
Mahmood Ul Hassan Qureshi said the moment FIR is registered, it will be communicated to DPO and IG office simultaneously and desirous people can have access to this information. He said that on the special directive of IGP Ahmad Nasim, websites of these districts comprising history of the district, crime trend, population, efforts to curb crime and official and residential telephone numbers of all police stations and officers have also been floated for the information of the people.

He said e.mail addresses of all police officers had already been published to facilitate the people.
