Egypt's main government wheat buyer said on Saturday it had bought 305,000 tonnes of wheat. Said el-Hefny, vice chairman of the General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC), gave the breakdown of the purchases.
60,000 tonnes of US soft red winter wheat from Cargill at $228.10 per tonne, FOB, for shipment between July 23-31, 60,000 tonnes of US soft red winter wheat from Bunge at $228.10 per tonne, FOB, for shipment between August 1-10, 55,000 tonnes of US soft red winter wheat from Dreyfus at $230.99 per tonne.
FOB, for shipment between August 5-10, 30,000 tonnes of Russian wheat from Silverstone at $233 per tonne, FOB, for shipment between August 1-10, 100,000 tonnes of Russian or Kazakh wheat from Venus at 1,532.50 Egyptian pounds per tonne, landed cost, for delivery between August 10-31.
