Justice Sarmad Jalal Usmani, Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, HBL President Zakir Mehmood and other executive officers of the bank were also present at the inaugural ceremony. HBL President Zakir Mehmood said that the HBL's online branches were increasing gradually. He said at present, Habib Bank Limited (HBL) had some 350 branches 'online network', and at the end of the current year, it was expected to have 600 branches.
Similarly, around 85 ATMs would be installed at different branches of the HBL by December, he said, and added that currently the bank was providing facilities through 245 ATM machines. He said that HBL's customers would soon operate their account from any branch of the country, adding that "if a customer had his account in the Chitral branch, he would be able to draw cash from Gwadar branch.
"HBL has done major investment in introducing the latest technology in the field of banking with a view to providing services to its customers," he added. HBL had over 1,400 branches all over the country and some 26 branches in different countries, he added.
He recalled that Habib Bank Limited (HBL) was established in 1941 and later on the request of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, it was shifted to Pakistan and performed its banking services as the first Muslim bank in the country. He added that the Quaid-e-Azam opened his account in HBL.
