Pakistan Flour Mills Association, (PFMA) NWFP chapter on Friday asked the federal government to immediately stop massive loadshedding in the province, otherwise, dozens of flour mills would be closed down in different parts of provincial capital.
In a statement issued here, Muhammad Naeem Butt, chairman of the association said that hours long loadshedding mainly on Charsadda Road is causing unprecedented disruptions in the production of flourmills located in the area.
He said at least 15 flourmills are situated on Charsadda Road, which are being supplied electricity from Daudzai Feeder No 2. He said since the feeder mainly covers rural areas, therefore it remained without electricity daily for seven to eight hours that ultimately affect the production of such mills.
Butt said that they had already been taken up the matter with Peshawar Electricity Supply Company (Pesco) time and again, but all their assurances had remained fruitless. He asked the Federal Minister for Water and Power, Liaqat Ali Jatoi to feed such flour mills from a separate industrial feeder to provide them uninterrupted power supply.
