The Pakistan Muslim League (N) has guaranteed that the All Parties Conference (APC) in London will be result-oriented, said Nawabzada Mansoor Ahmed Khan, Chief of Pakistan Democratic Party (PDP) and vice president of ARD while addressing a press conference here on Thursday.
Nawabzada said that opposition had agreed on a two-point agenda of London APC, and assured that all the opposition would resign from the assemblies if President Musharraf was re-elected. He said the opposition had announced not to contest any such elections held under General Musharraf's supervision and assured about the guarantees of APC hosts about attending the event.
He berated the incident of fire in the public accounts committee's record room as very miserable and alleged the government of its involvement in the incident, adding the fire was deliberately started in order to eradicate the corruption proofs of the government about sugar mafia, stock exchange and steel mills privatisation. He demanded an immediate independent judicial inquiry of the matter.
The PDP president said that millions of names were missing in the new voters' list released by the election commission, which proved the government had taken the first step towards pre-poll rigging. He demanded the election commission for public disclosure of the district voters' lists on the website, adding the lack of voters in the fresh voter lists had become a sign of interrogation for the whole nation.
Nawabzada expressed his deep sorrow and grief over the causalities in Karachi during the ongoing rains and alleged the city's development funds were being sent to the MQM chief in London as extortion money for his luxurious lifestyle.
