Portfolio investment, as represented by Special Convertible Rupee Accounts (SCRAs), has declined by 4.42 million dollars during the last couple of days and stood at 977.954 million dollars on June 27 from its highest level of 982.381 million dollars on June 25.
According to figures released by the State Bank of Pakistan on Thursday, the net outflow of 4,245,451-dollar portfolio investment was registered on June 26, while an amount of 181,836 dollars were withdrawn on June 27.
The main reason of this outflow was made by the investors from Hong Kong, Switzerland, UAE, UK and USA, who opted for profit-taking on available margins. On June 27, the total portfolio investment stood at 977,954,095 dollars as compared to the its all time high level of 982,381,382 dollars on June 25.
