The surge in total portfolio investment indicates foreign investors'' continuous interest in the local equity market, as the net inflow reached at its highest ever level of 982.381 million dollars on June 25.
The massive inflow of portfolio investment in the country was registered from UK, Hong Kong, USA, Switzerland and Bermuda as 57.439 million dollars was increased in this account only on June 25.
According to the recent figures, released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Tuesday, the total portfolio investment has reached at its all time highest level of 982,381,382 dollars on June 25 and the total portfolio investment came during the current month (from June 1 to 25) stood at 232,295,505 dollars, while 57,439,856 dollars came on June 25.
On June 25, an inflow of 998,144 dollars in this account was registered by investors from Bermuda; 1,977,266 dollars from Hong Kong; 546,011 dollars from Switzerland; 52,927,313 dollars from UK; and 3,829,129 dollars from the US, while the outflow of 867,092 dollars was registered by the investors from the UK and 1,970,915 dollars by the investors from USA the same day.
