The University of Health Sciences (UHS) is organising 6th international workshop for faculty training on "Integrated Outcomes Based Teaching and Learning Concepts." The 5-day workshop is scheduled from June 26 to 30. Professor Dr Tim Neild from Flinders University School of Medicine, Adelaide, Australia, will facilitate the workshop.
According to a spokesman of UHS, this workshop is one of the series of workshops arranged by the UHS to train medical faculty in latest instructional techniques and evaluation strategies.
The basic aspect of this workshop is curriculum integration, which is a teaching approach that enables students and teachers to identify research problems and issues without any regard for subject-area boundaries.
Outcome-based education is an education reform model, which is intended to objectively measure students' performance. Measurement may be used to determine whether or not the education system is performing adequately, and in some cases whether or not students will be certified as educated by the system.
