The Karachi Port handled 101,706 tonnes cargo including 69,756 tonnes import, 31,950 tonnes export cargo and 2,880 containers (TEUs) during last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday.
The cargo comprised of 71,716 tonnes dry cargo including 54,720 tonnes general cargo; 9,592 tonnes fertiliser; 7,404 tonnes cement and 29,990 tonnes oil/liquid cargo.
Twelve ships namely Iran Tabatabaei, Corinthiakos, Oel Trust, CMA CGM Gardenia, Mol Asante, Four Bay, Effy N, Hartati, Asian Queen, Datian, Viscaya and Golina sailed out to sea during the report period.
Ten vessels viz Lucky Arrow, CMA CGM Gardenia, Oel Trust, Conti Esperance, Jitra Bhum, Wan Hai-301, Chettinad Tradition, Hanjin Istanbul, Aoyama and Lalazar are currently at the berths.
Three ships namely Conti Esperance, Makran and Wan Hai-301 expected to sail on Monday, while five vessels viz Aoyama, Lalazar, Winco Uno, Beluga Eternity and Bunga Kenari expected to sail on Tuesday.
Two vessels viz Sea Princess and Ocean Frontier due to arrive on Monday, while eight ships namely Chemstar Brave, Al Ihsaa, Apl Shenzhan, Sinar Bandung, Spilit, Mary H, Adriatic Arrow and Bt Sadia are due to arrive on Tuesday.
The cargo comprised of 1,999 tonnes diesel oil; 734 tonnes cement and 25,122 tonnes containerised cargo. Two vessels viz C.V. Norfolk Express and M.T. Keefan expected to sail on Monday.
Container vessel MSC Aurora is currently at the outer anchorage. Four vessels viz C.V. MSC Zanzibar, C.V. Norfolk Express, M.V. Al-Mansourahs and M.T. Keefan are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Two ships namely C.V. Maersk Carolina and C.V. Carina due to take berths at Container Terminal on Monday. Five vessels viz C.V. Carina, CV Lucien, C.V. Maersk Carolina, C.V. Pacheco and M.T. Pegasus with containers and edible oil are due to arrive on Monday, while another ship namely C.V. Nedlloyed Asia is due to arrive on Tuesday.
