Cocoa arrivals at ports in Ivory Coast from October 1 to June 24 reached around 1,129,000 tonnes, compared with 1,249,127 in the same period a year, exporters said on Monday. Exporters estimated around 13,000 tonnes arrived at ports from June 18-24, down from 19,327 in the same period of the 2005/06 season.
"We had about 13,000 tonnes. We can't really say it's a good figure but we'll have to make do with it because we know we're at the end of the season," a sales representative for one international exporter in Abidjan told Reuters.
Deliveries of beans to the ports have been lagging behind those received during last year's April-September mid crop after months of hot, dry weather this year slashed output.
