The City District Government Rawalpindi will launch Model Rescue 1122 emergency service from July 1 to provide quick relief to people during emergencies and disasters. The government would induct 300 rescuers in the force who have completed 4-month basic training at Emergency Training Academy, Lahore, said an official of the Rescue 1122 here on Monday.
Ahmed Chauhan told Business Recorder that Rescue 1122 was provided 14 state-of-the-art ambulances equipped with modern facilities. He said that Rescue 1122 would also set up fire stations in Liaquat Bagh, Pir Wadhi and Commercial Centre in Satellite Town.
The headquarters of Rescue 1122 has been established at Rawal Road whereas rescue centres have been set up at Pir Wadhi Mor, Soan Forest Complex, 17-Mile Toll Plaza, Kalima Chowk and Civil Defence areas of the city. Four more rescue centres would be established at Murree including one each at Charra Pani, Jheeka Gali and Punjab House.
