Warid, a venture of the Abu Dhabi Group, has chosen the Telcordia Number Portability Gateway, which improves its competitive position by increasing the flow of porting requests and improving customer experience.
The move makes Warid Telecom the second of three major mobile operators in Pakistan to select a Telcordia number portability solution, a private television channel reported on Jun 20.
The Telcordia nummber portability solution will enable Pakistani consumers and businesses to easily switch providers without the time and expense of changing phone numbers.
"Pakistan's consumers and businesses, just as it has in the numerous other countries serving more than 160 service providers where Telcordia has enabled number portability so far."
These latest contracts demonstrate the market leading position of Telcordia to provide wireless and wireline number portability solutions world-wide.
