Inflation in Saudi Arabia to stay under control

Saudi Arabia's central bank governor said on Saturday he is optimistic that inflation in the Gulf state will stay under control. Saudi Monetary Authority Governor Hamad Saud al-Sayyari said inflation had come down to 2.9 percent, from 3 percent earlier in the year.
"I'm optimistic it will stay under control," he told reporters on the sidelines of Bank for International Settlements meetings, when asked for his inflation outlook. Asked how inflation would affect monetary policy, he said: "We will have to wait and see the new developments, the new statistics."
