In order to minimise interaction between the tax officials and taxpayers, the Large Taxpayers Unit (LTU) Karachi is launching pilot project for e-filing, e-payment and end-to-end process till e-refund.
As a part of Central Board of Revenue's (CBR) overall facilitation drive for taxpayers in the country, the LTU Karachi is initiating the pilot project for withholding agents. A CBR official said that tax department is in process of launching web based e-filing and e-payment software where taxpayers would not only be able to make tax payment account of their own-self and as withholding agents for their payees with details required under the law/rules directly via online accounts from anywhere any time with a very easy to use interface.
The official said that before launching of the projects the CBR would get feedback and inputs about the process and the system. The proposals may be incorporated if agreed by all the stakeholders. To aware about the web-based system, LTU Karachi is organising a briefing on June 23, the official said.
