Karachi city led all other cities in Sindh province in respect of payments for Registration under the Motor vehicle head, according to the revised estimates for the current financial year.
While total collections under the registration head in Motor Vehicle account has been placed at a total of Rs 501 million, the contribution of Karachi to this amount is Rs 425 million followed by forty million rupees by Hyderabad district and Rs 15 million by Sukkur district. Mirpurkhas leads the other interior districts with Rs 6 million collected under registration in the Motor Vehicle head in the current year.
The very rich district of Larkana contributed only Rs 3.75 million in the current year under the registration head while the district of Ghotki stood second in the interior districts of Sindh with a contribution of Rs 4.6 million towards registration fees collected in the current year.
It may be mentioned here that during the current year the number of motor vehicles registered following easy car purchase schemes launched by the commercial banks, has resulted in such high collection under registration from Karachi city.
