Another 48 Farmers Field Schools (FFSs) would become functional here from July 1, to train the mango growers about the best agriculture practices and use of modern technology to enhance the farm yield. This was stated by Deputy Director of Fruit and Vegetable Development Project (FVDP), Multan, Chaudhry Khalid Mehmood, while talking to APP here on Wednesday.
He said that during the first year of this three-year project, 48 FFS had been set up in Multan and 48 more schools would start functioning from July 1. Giving details about new development, he said that the old FFS had been given the status of review FFS and their meetings would be held on monthly basis in next fiscal year. The meetings of farmers and agriculture extension officials, involving new FFS, would be held fortnightly, he added.
