Freight rates suddenly raised by shipping companies: PSSA version

Pakistan Ships Agents Association (PSAA) has claimed that it had received a lot of queries as to why our members/their principals have increased freight rates from China "when in fact they have not done so."
According to PSAA importers ought to buy basis Free on Board (FOB) rather than Cost and Freight (CNF) which is the practice in Pakistan (unlike in India) and thus control their own "freight destinies". It said there was sufficient competition on all routes to/from Pakistan to ensure a fair level of freight provided merchants learn how to negotiate their freight contracts in their own best interest.-PR
