The first ever Women Business Incubation Center (WBIC) established by the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority (Smeda) at Lahore reached completion this week by furnishing 24 cubical offices bearing modern communication and exhibition facilities.
Shahid Rashid, Chief Executive Officer, Smeda visited the center on Tuesday to inspect the standard of business facilities made available here for Women Entrepreneurs. He was accompanied by Jameel Afaqi, GM, policy and planning, Iftikhar Hussain, GM, central support and a number of the other senior officials from Smeda.
Shahid Rashid advised the management of WBIC to develop marketing material of this center also in Urdu language to make middle class businesswomen aware of the facilities available here. He was of the view that center management should organise a test exhibition of women products and services in this center to gain attention of women towards this project before the formal opening.
CEO Smeda was confident that WBIC would play essential role in developing women entrepreneurship in the city. He said that basing upon success of the Lahore Center, more WBICs would be established in other business towns.
