The City District Government of Karachi (CDGK) has asked an Iranian investment company for technological help in solid waste management, infrastructure and transport sectors.
According to a press release issued here on Friday, City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal seeks this assistance primarily in installing the 13 steel bridges, to be constructed in collaboration with Japan, across the city. The nazim was talking to an Iranian delegation, led by Consul General of Iran Masood Muhammad Zamani, which was called on him here on Friday.
The city nazim told the visiting delegation, interested in large-scale investment in various sectors, that the CDGK had undertaken a fast uplift process of infrastructure improvement, construction of signal-free corridors, flyovers, underpasses and roads on international standard. He said that 150 CNG buses would start running in Karachi next month, while another 150 buses would also ply between various routes in the city in the next phase.-PR
