Rich tributes were paid to Begum Ra'ana Liaquat Ali Khan for her immense contributions to the cause of women development. The occasion was the commemoration of the 17th death anniversary of Begum Ra'ana Liaquat Ali Khan.
Under the auspices of the Quaid-e-Millat Liaquat Ali Khan Memorial Committee at the Newport Institute of Communications and Economics on its premises here, says a statement on Thursday.
Begum Liaquat Ali Khan was the founder President of the All Pakistan Women's Association (Apwa), which was established in 1949. Ziauddin Medical University Vice Chancellor Shahid Aziz Siddiqui, Rector of the Newport Institute of Communications and Economics, Dr Waseem Baghi, Vice Chairperson of the Institute Huma Bukhari and Mehfooz-un-Nabi khan of the Quaid-e-Millat Memorial Committee also paid rich tributes to Begum Ra'ana Liaquat Ali Khan for her immense services for the emancipation of women and realisation of their rights in the society.
