ISTANBUL: Military chiefs from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Turkey held a meeting here on Tuesday in connection with trilateral summit being hosted by Turkish President Abdullah Gul.

Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani represented Pakistan while General Necdet Ozel of Turkey and General Shir Muhammad Karimi attended on behalf of their respective countries.

They discussed professional matters and exchanged views to further enhance cooperation at military level to ensure peace, security and stability in the region.
