MINGORA: Security forces have foiled a terrorism bid in Swat and recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition from Munda, Dir Lower. The security forces have also arrested the alleged accused and his accomplices. The recovered arms and ammunition was presented before the media in Swat.
According to Colonel Arif Mehmood, a spokesman of ISPR in Swat, the security forces on a tip conducted raid in Munda, Dir Lower and recovered heavy weapons and thousands of cartridges.
Presenting the weapons and cartridges before media here at Kanju Township, Colonel Arif Mehmood told that the weapons and cartridges were stocked by a person identified as Dawa Khan for dispatching to Swat for use in terrorism. However, he said the security forces foiled the bid.
The recovered arms and ammunition were included 8 kalashnikovs, 8 pistols, 2 riffles, 8 riffles 12 bore, one repitor, 2000 rounds of Kalashnikov, 2000 rounds of 12 bore riffle, 1000 rounds of riffle 303, 900 rounds of pistols and extra magazines of the Kalashnikov.
He said that the accomplices of the key accused Dawa Khan have been arrested while action for the arrest of the key accused is in progress. He said that Fazalluh, who is living in Kunar Afghanistan is trying to carry terrorism in Swat and sabotage the peace of the area.
