ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has directed the Secretary Railways to remain in Lahore till the time all problems of pensioners are addressed and a smooth system was in place for timely payment of their pensions.
The Prime Minister directed the President of the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) to increase the number of dedicated counters for pensioners to facilitate them in getting their pensions in a smooth manner.
The Ministry of Finance has also been directed by the Prime Minister to make sure the timely provision of funds to the Ministry of Railways for the payment of pensions etc.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Gilani has also directed the Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) for importing 700,000 tons of urea for its timely provision during the forthcoming Rabbi season. The tenders for import of urea will be opened tomorrow (Friday).
