Wahab admits bowling failure against Australia

Published January 4, 2017 Updated January 4, 2017 12:11pm

imagePakistan series against Australia has been a sad state of affairs for the Team Misbah, with the visitors already have lost the series 2-0, no progress has been made in particular by the bowling unit to stop the Aussies batting onslaught.

Pakistans fast bowler Wahab Riaz admitted their shortcomings, as the bowling department remained unsuccessful to utilize the conditions offered Down Under.

"We didnt bowl well and Australia batted at an extremely good run rate. The conditions in Sydney were quite close to those we get in Asia. The pitch was little slow. We know how to bowl in these conditions and we should have bowled better here," said Wahab, reported cricket.com.au.

"We admit that we havent been successful here."

"We have not been able to execute our plans and if you are not doing it properly then there is little chance you will take wickets at the end of the day its the bowling unit which isnt doing good. As a bowling unit we have let our team really down," the fast bowler admitted.

Australian batting line up blasted the visitors in the first innings of the third Test match at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), as the hosts managed to plunder runs, declaring at 538 at the loss of eight wickets. From Australia Matt Renshaw, David Warner and Peter Handscomb went on to make 184,113 and 110, respectively.
