ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Friday reviewed progress on the implementation of National Financial Inclusion Strategy (NFIS) to improve financial services to people across Pakistan.
Addressing a meeting, Dar directed all relevant stakeholders including Nadra, FBR, SBP, provincial governments and the finance ministry to work in close collaboration for increasing outreach and access of financial services to people across the country.
According to local media reports, Dar emphasized on the need to adopt latest technologies for enhancing financial inclusion in a more efficient manner. The meeting was attended by senior officials of the Ministry of Finance.
The minister was informed that significant growth has been witnessed in the areas of Branchless Banking, Agriculture credit, micro-finance, SME Finance and Islamic Banking since the launch of NFIS in May 2015.
