CPEC to usher in new era of Balochistan's development: COAS
QUETTA: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Bajwa arrived in Quetta on Monday to appear as the chief guest in passing out parade of Baloch Recruits.
According to a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Army Chief addressed the parade ceremony and expressed his delightg that Balochistan continues to contribute towards national integration and progress.
General Qamar Bajwa said he was proud to be present at this moment of happiness and success for the Baloch people.
"Very few people know I also belong to the Baloch regiment," the Army Chief said, adding that Pakistan is "our home, our tribe and our country."
Lauding the achievements of the recruits, General Bajwa said he is proud that the Baloch youth are at the forefront in the defense of the country. He said thousands of Baloch youth are serving in Pakistan Armed Forces, FC, police and other institutions.
"Balochistan is a big and important province of Pakistan," he said.
The COAS said Pakistan's enemies want to create hurdles in the development of Balochistan. "Our enmity is with the enemies of Pakistan," he said.
The Army Chief said the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will usher in a new era of development for Balochistan and the entire region.
"The future of our children is bright," he said.
