PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information, Mian Iftikhar Hussein has urged on all political and democratic forces to jointly work for the strengthened democracy and democratic institutions in the country.
Addressing a public meeting in connections with party elections in PK-12 at Choki Mamraiz, district Nowshera; he urged the political forces to avoid steps that could harms the prevailing democratic system.
In the ANP elections for PK-12, Zar Ali Khan was elected president and Asghar Khattak as general secretary. Others those elected were included Mian Hamid Saeed (Senior Vice President), Haji Nawaz Khan (vice president-I), Malik Jamal Shah (vice president-II), Haji Mir Qadir Khan, deputy general secretary, Momin, secretary information, Mussrat Shah Khattak, secretary culture, Islam Mohammad, secretary finance, Kausar Ali, join secretary-I, Ikramullah, joint secretary-II and Rasool Khan was elected as Salaar.
On this occasion, Mian Iftikhar Hussein congratulated the newly elected party office bearers for PK-12 and expressed the hope that they will come up to the expectations of the party and people and will convey the message of peace, brotherhood and reconciliation to every house and will carried indiscriminatory services to the people.
Regarding the deteriorating situation in the region, he said for the establishment of durable peace, Pakistan, United States and Afghanistan would have to restore trust on each other and later would have to be made more stronger, which is guarantee to the elimination of terrorism and establishment of peace in the region.
He said that the ongoing war in Afghanistan was neither a war between infidels and Islam earlier and nor today, rather it is a war of the interest of world powers and unfortunately innocent Pakhtuns are its victims.
Paying tributes to the sacrifices of Begum Nasrut Bhutto against dictatorship, Mian Iftikhar said that the sacrifices of Bhutto family for the promotion of democracy in Pakistan are unforgettable.
On this occasion, special prayers were offered for the eternal peace of Begum Nusrat Bhutto and all martyrs.
Talking about the economy of the province, he said that terrorism have badly damaged the economy of the province, otherwise, he said the situation would have been totally different.
He said that this year, the province has given a record development budget of Rs.76 billion from its own resources, which he said would increase with the passage of every year.
