New Zealand brings major changes against Pakistan

Published November 21, 2016 Updated November 21, 2016 09:14am

imageNew Zealand outperformed Pakistan in the first Test match at Christchurch, winning it by eight wickets, as the hosts exploited the conditions better and achieved 1-0 lead in the two Test match series.

The Blacks Caps announced two major changes in its squad, as it brings all-rounder Mitchell Santner, alongside batsman Dean Brownlie, back into the squad for the second Test against Pakistan starting in Hamilton on November 25th (Friday).

Santner return to the squad after he dropped out of the first Test after he underwent a fractured wrist. However, Santner has fully recovered after the positive x-ray reports, the Allrounder would replace Jimmy Neesham in New Zealand's 15-man squad.

Its obviously pleasing to have Mitchell back with the team ahead of the second Test. With him and Todd in the team, it gives us the opportunity to play two spinners if required. Mitchell brings all-round ability and is coming off a strong tour of India," said New Zealand selector Gavin Larsen.

However, Ross Taylors status for the second Test is still yet to be confirmed reported blackcaps.co.nz. The specialist batsman would see another eye specialist in the coming days, Dean Brownlie will join the squad as cover for Taylor.

Were still waiting on a little more information on Ross before we make any decision on his availability for the second Test. Dean will come in as cover, but we should know more in the next couple of days, added Larsen.
