Riding high after the success against West Indies in UAE, Misbah and his men now eye the shaky Kiwis who return home after being manhandled by India last month.
On paper Pakistan is the dominant side thanks to a varied spin cum pace attack, and a reasonably stable batting line up, whereas most of the Kiwi players were struggling against India.
"If you see, after the Indian tour, most of the Kiwi batsmen have been struggling and short of confidence," expressed Pakistan Test skipper Misbah ul Haq, reported Cricinfo.
Misbah was of the view, that New Zealand does enjoy the Home Advantage. However, Misbah opined that confidence plays a much bigger role.
"I know this is their own territory and they'll be confident playing here, but as a batsman, and a cricketer, confidence can play a big role. Being short of confidence - we'll look forward to exploiting that."
However, New Zealand is no UAE and Pakistan biggest challenge would be to tackle the conditions offered by the island.
"If you look at the UAE conditions and New Zealand conditions, these are totally different," said Misbah.
"That's the biggest challenge for us, especially for our batting. We need to make sure that we bat with discipline and put good scores on the board. Our bowling is very much capable of performing well in any sort of conditions, added Misbah.
Pakistan would play its first match against New Zealand on Thursday at Christchurch.
