ISLAMABAD: Parliamentary Secretary for Communication Chaudhary Saeed Iqbal on Tuesday informed the National Assembly that efforts are underway to centralize driving license system in the country to remove all flaws in this regard.

Replying to a Calling Attention Notice moved by Tasneem Siddiqui, Parveen Masood Bhatti and others regarding increased accidents on Motorways in the country, he said that license mechanism is not proper and bogus licenses are being issued in the country.

He said that bill will be introduced in the House to remove prevailing flaws in the system.

Saeed Iqbal said that number of accidents was decreased on the motorways and rescue centres were also being introduced to provide prompt medical assistance to the people.

Regarding theft of fence around motorways, he said fence was being repaired and replaced and new check posts were also set up to stop stealing of fence.

To a question, he said that an inquiry is underway into a school bus accident and four motorway officials were suspended in this regard.
