imageSurfing around social media and posting videos and images is a favorite habit for most, especially the youngsters. However, now you can make money doing the same stuff.

The micro-blogging platform Twitter has launched new monetization options for video creators in US, introducing a number of ways for the social media top users to earn money from advertisements. “We're expanding our revenue programs to empower creators to earn money in multiple ways!” posted Twitter in a blog post.

The newly introduced process is an extension of Amplify Push Program, which became opened to publishers last year. It “is as simple as “checking a box” prior to Tweeting. Pre-roll ads will then run against the content and a portion of the ad revenue is then shared back with creator,” says the company.

As per Adweek, revenue for ads will be split on a 70/30 basis, with creators of videos receiving 70 percent share and Twitter receiving the other 30 percent. Twitter is offering higher share than its competitors i.e. 45 percent YouTube gives its creators. However, this program is not open for everyone, only creators approved by Twitter will be able to make money through it.

Twitter also announced changes to its Media Studio with upgrades include: “A new unified media library (videos, GIFs, and images), New Tweet scheduling / planning capabilities, Team management and multi-account support.”

It has also an “Earnings” section to its Twitter Engage Mobile app. “This new section allows creators to easily track their earnings for not only Twitter, but Niche programs as well,” said the company.
