KARACHI: Gold moved up by Rs171 to Rs47,571 per 10 grams in the local market Wednesday, as its international price surged to $1,686 an ounce, market sources said.

According to the Karachi Saraf Association officials, tola (11.664 grams) price also increased by Rs200 to Rs55,500.

Silver closed higher at Rs942.85 per 10 grams.
