KARACHI: Former Sindh Home Minister and MPA Zulfiqar Mirza has resigned from the membership of Sindh Assembly on Monday.
"I have received Dr Mirza's resignation which was submitted to my office in his own hand writing," said Speaker Sindh Assembly Nisar Khuhro while addressing a press conference at his office.
Khuhro said that he also talked to Dr Mirza on telephone and confirmed that the resignation was tendered by him.
He said that Mirza did not assign any reason for his resignation in the letter and added that all legal formalities were completed by his secretariat.
In addition, he said that the Election Commission will announce date of election on PS-57 (Badin) which has fallen vacant after the resignation of MPA Dr. Zulfiqar Mirza.
